CTD produces backing plates in both conventional and fine-blank configurations. Fine-Blank backing plates offer the advantage of tighter tolerances, a more flat plate and a shaving area of 80% minimum, covering the entire plate area. Compared to standard break away for conventional plates, between 20 – 30% shaved, a more precise contact area is guaranteed with a fine-blank plate.
